The seminar brought together over 600 participants, including representatives from relevant authorities, local government representatives, and experts in policy, technology, and the industry chain. They explored solutions to the challenges and opportunities facing the photovoltaic industry, injecting new momentum into its high-quality development.
In recent years, thanks to the active support of various departments and the concerted efforts of the industry, my country's photovoltaic industry has achieved global leadership in terms of scale, technological level, and application markets, becoming a shining symbol of Made in China.
However, the industry is currently undergoing a new round of deep adjustments amidst cyclical fluctuations, presenting numerous new changes. Going forward, the Electronics Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will thoroughly implement the decisions and deployments of higher authorities. First, it will standardize industry development and promote the orderly withdrawal of outdated production capacity; second, it will strengthen standard guidance and intellectual property protection to support industrial technological innovation; and third, it will continue to deepen international cooperation and consolidate its global competitive advantage.
The conference pointed out that the photovoltaic industry is a strategic emerging industry in my country, and its high-quality development is of great significance to my country's energy strategy, dual-carbon strategy, and industrial strategy.
In the first half of 2025, my country's photovoltaic industry achieved tremendous success. In terms of installed capacity, my country's photovoltaic power generation capacity increased by 213 million kilowatts, bringing the cumulative installed capacity to a historic 1 billion kilowatts, reaching 1.099 billion kilowatts, accounting for over 30% of the country's total installed power generation capacity. In terms of power generation, China's photovoltaic power generation reached 561.3 billion kilowatt-hours in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 43%, accounting for over 12% of total electricity consumption, further enhancing its green power supply capacity. In terms of industrial technology, the production and technological level of silicon materials, silicon wafers, batteries, and modules across all links continued to maintain a global leading position.
